Demonic Cultivation:   Wei Wuxian   founds this path of cultivation, which utilizes resentful energy to aid the user. Likely because of this path, he possesses a unique ability to hear nearby spirits.

   Personality .   

  Wei Wuxian   possesses an energetic and mischievous personality, caring little for rules and decorum. He enjoys teasing others and flirting with girls.Beneath his carefree attitude,   Wei Wuxian   cares deeply for those he loves. He possesses a self-sacrificing spirit that ranges from mild risks like sneaking alcohol to his friends in the Cloud Recesses, to being willing to have his dominant hand severed if it means placating the   Qishan Wen Clan's ire towards the   Yunmeng Jiang Clan. He has his own Golden Core transplanted into his martial brother   Jiang Cheng   after   Jiang Cheng's own core had been melted. During the transplant,   Wei Wuxian   endures, awake and without pain medication, for two nights and one day.Intelligent and inventive,   Wei Wuxian   asks   Lan Qiren   whether there is a way to utilize resentful energy instead of suppressing it. Once he finds himself thrown into the Burial Mounds without his golden core, he invents Demonic Cultivation, and within three months is capable of massacring an entire supervisory office.Wei Wuxian   has a strong sense of justice. Despite   Jin Guangyao   attempt to frame him for mass murder at the Second Siege of the Burial Mounds,   Wei Wuxian   expresses caution when further stories of   Jin Guangyao's misdeeds emerge. He states that the actions of  Nie Huaisang   are not necessarily justice, noting many of   Jin Guangyao's apparent kindnesses.[18] Even after learning   Jin Guangyao's role in his first death,   Wei Wuxian   remains skeptical on many of the resulting rumors, as he recognizes that similar falsehoods had once been spread about him.

   Backstory .   

The cultivation world was once entrusted to five elite clans:   Lan  ,   Jiang  ,   Nie  ,   Jin  , &   Wen  .Two teenagers; the carefree   Wei Ying   of the   Jiang Clan   and the disciplined   Lan Zhan   of the   Lan Clan  , first met during a retreat to Cloud Recesses in Gusu (the latter's home), when   Wei Ying   accidentally lost the invitations to the lecture thus resulting in he and his clan not being allowed entry into the sect.   Wei Ying   was tasked with retrieving the invitations but when he tried to sneak back inside (with alcohol which was forbidden),   Lan Zhan, who was patrolling the borders, caught him. They fought, soon realizing, that they were equals in their abilities.Causing many troubles and headaches in Cloud Recesses due to his rebellious nature,   Wei Ying   was often punished for his misbehaviors and   Lan Zhan   was usually tasked with keeping an eye on him and over time, the two formed an odd friendship of sorts and even unlocked some mysterious of the past together. However, their peaceful days were soon put to rest as the   Wen Clan   began to seek out an amulet with incredible power. They rampaged through villages and murdered entire clans in search of it, including   Wei Ying   and   Lan Zhan  ’s homes, leaving only a few survivors. After the tyrannous   Wen Chao   captured   Wei Ying  , he threw the young cultivator into the dreaded Burial Mounds to be left for dead while the   Wen Clan   quickly tightened their fist around the cultivation world, crowning themselves as ruler of them all. For three months,   Lan Zhan   searched tirelessly for Wei Ying until one day, he reappeared. In his hand; a black flute with red tassels. The once carefree teenager had changed.With his new demonic abilities and the help of the surviving clans, the   Wen Clan   was destroyed for good. However, when   Wei Ying   learned that the   Jin clan   were senselessly killing innocent people from the   Wen Clan   (children, the eldery and the forced), he was furious and defected from the   Jiang Clan   to start a new life in Yiling, protecting the remaining members and earning himself the title of     “The Yiling Patriarch''.       Lan Zhan   visited him as often as he could and was often punished for his actions as his Uncle forbade him from seeing the other, believing   Wei Ying   to now be evil and out of control.Some time later,   Lan Zhan   pleaded to the clans to allow   Wei Ying   to attend the celebration of the birth of the latter’s nephew to which the clans reluctantly accepted. However, along the way,   Wei Ying   was ambushed by the furious   Jin Clan   who believed he had put a curse on one of its members though he had done no such thing. A fight ensued which led to the death of his brother-in-law and heir to the Jin Clan. Given his rebellious past and new demonic powers, the clans were quick to wrongly declare him a murderer.
As all the clans gathered to scorn him,   Wei Ying   simply laughed and mocked them atop Nightless City’s palace roof. He told them    “You said you admired me once. Why did I never see you? But when I’m at a disadvantage, you suddenly jump to help them yell and shout? How cheap your admiration was!"    To which the clans revolted and began their attack.With the sound of his flute, he raised the dead from the ground, wishing only to defend himself. However a mysterious second flute could be heard faintly over the crowd, this new music beginning to force the dead to kill instead of defend. Before   Wei Ying   could even react, this new and unknown demonic power led a corpse to kill his beloved sister;   Yanli  , who had ventured onto the battlefield to ensure her siblings were safe.Distraught over   Yanli’s death and the blood-bath that was ensuing before him, the infamous demonic cultivator threw himself off a cliff to his supposed death.   Wei Ying’s body was never recovered and   Lan Zhan   held hope that somehow, his soulmate was still alive.

   cultivation/abilities   

  Shaoqing   is a master demonic cultivator. He has the ability to manipulate dark energy around him, summon shadows, demons and spirits (though not the living dead itself), possession and can drain energy/qi (though not deplete it completely)What   Shaoqing   is skilled in demonic cultivation, he lacks in physical fighting. While he does know how to wield a sword, it is not his strong suit nor it strength itself.

   Mister Hao .   

  Shaoqing   uses the alias " Mister Hao " when he is out in public to keep himself a mystery and to ensure no one makes a connection between him and his sect.

Guo Feng was an extremely successful merchant who sold goods all over the world. However, Feng was overtaken by his wealth and became so greedy and vain over the years that by the time Shaoqing   was born, Feng only saw the infant as something that would take away his fortune. Growing up, Feng treated the poor boy like absolute dirt, humiliating him in front of other nobles and consistently telling him that he would never amount to anything. His father had so much distaste for his own son that he forced the boy out of the household when he was only eleven years old.Shaoqing   wished to proved him wrong.He spent years rising to power, calculating his every move and becoming a high ranking official all on his own. But by the time he returned home when he was around the age of 20 to show all he had accomplished, Shaoqing   discovered that Feng had passed on from this world. Driven by pure anger that he never got to shove his talents in his fathers face, he sought out a different form of power, in the hopes to raise his father from the dead just so he could send him back into the ground again.

Finding books, other practitioners, as well as his own discoveries about demonic cultivation, he studied and practiced the taboo art of demonic cultivation, becoming a master of his at quite an alarming rate.Slowly Shaoqing   began to gather followers, creating his own sect while working in the shadows to carefully eliminate the noblemen who had laughed and humiliated him in his youth.Currently he resides in a cavern encampment at the base of a mountain, hidden from view. He comes out on occasion to get a lay of the land and well as ensure his informants and followers are doing their jobs. Though recently he has been venturing into the city to have tea with a certain White Orchid.

He had never meant to form a group but when someone discovered him practicing his dark magic and asked to learn as well, Shaoqing   saw an opportunity to further his reach and make his life far easier than it had been.IDENTIFIERS - Members of the Wolf Clan are usually dressed in black with hoods over their heads, however they have been known to quite often wear civilian clothes in order to blend into crowds and gain better knowledge of the on-going's of the land and where targets may be headed.

While most of her sect imbed their cultivation into such items like fans,   Mei-Xing   (despite her graceful demeanor) picked her sword. It was given to her by her father as a means of protection. It's a treasured item of hers.

   Music .   

Mei-Xing   can not play any instrument to save her life. She has tried and it has never worked out, no matter who tutors her. However, that doesn't stop her from continuing to try.

   Visits .   

  Mei-Xing   tries to visit her father as often as she can and has even attempted to convince him to move closer to Willow Peak but he refuses to leave his home as it was his wife's pride and joy.

   Uncertainy .   

Though she is fully dedicated to the sect, she still questions some of its practices. She hates the extreme punishments given and often merely scolds the disciples under her care rather than do was is instructed of their sect.

   Distractions .   

Knowing that her looks makes her seem like a delicate flower, she often uses that to her advantage to catch her opponent off guard. She can pack quite the punch!

   Season .   

  Mei-Xing's absolute favorite season is winter. She loves walking through the woods on a snowy day or starting a snowball fight with other disciples (whether they want to play or not).

   Plum Tree .   

When she was little, there use to be a plum tree by her house and she would tend to it diligently as it was and still is, her favorite fruit. She hopes to one day plant a new plum tree by her window.

Mei-Xing   was born on a bright spring day, the snow at last falling from the branches, but sadly taking the life of her mother with them. In his grief of losing his beloved,   Haoyu   fell into a deep depression for many years, leaving   Mei-Xing   to often fend for herself as she grew older. However, she didn’t mind. She was forever grateful to have a roof over her head, farmland to feast on and the company of family, even though that company tended to keep to himself.She tended to their small farm diligently, ensuring that they had everything they could possibly need, and extra to give away for those who needed it more. As she grew older,   Haoyu   would watch her from his window, realizing he had failed her as a father and sought her forgiveness by at last, stepping up. The two worked hard, gave away what they could and earned a reputation of being the “kind-hearted villagers”.One exceptionally chilled winter’s night when   Mei-Xing   was only fifteen, she and her father ventured into the mountain’s forest in an attempt to gather firewood that the snow had not soaked through yet but instead, only found terror.The two were surrounded by a group of bandits, declaring that the land was their territory and Mei-Xing and Haoyu had to pay for trespassing. Being humble farmers, they hardly had anything left to give for the winter season, but the bandits just laughed and told them they could pay with their lives.

Haoyu   tried to fight back, attempting to give his daughter a chance to run but she refused. As the bandits beat Haoyu   senselessly and held Mei-Xing down, a group of people dressed in white ascended down the mountainside like falling snow. The swiftly cut through the brutes with such skill,   Mei-Xing   couldn’t help but be enthralled by the display. As the snow settled and whoever was left standing of the brutes took off, the saviors introduced themselves as members of the White Orchid sect. Those words rang loudly in   Mei-Xing’s ear, over and over again. The White Orchid Sect. The White Orchid Sect…..she had to know more. But before she could ask her millions of questions, they vanished.“Father. I know what I have to do….I have to join them.”With Haoyu’s blessing, she took off, determination shining in her eyes as she sought out the mysterious sect until at last, she found them.   Mei-Xing   dropped to her knees and begged to be allowed into the sect to study and learn their ways. “If I can help someone the way you helped my father and I, then my life will be complete.”She was accepted.Through the years, she studied, cultivated and honed her craft in the world of martial arts, becoming an exceptional disciple and one many younger students look to for guidance. Her kindness is known throughout the temple and many try to hide behind her when about to be punished.

He enjoys tinkering away in his workshop and inventing new contraptions to help the people of the kingdom. He also enjoys horseback/reindeer riding through the mountains. He occasionally gets into trouble for sneaking out or arriving late to important events.

The young prince and the heir to the throne,   Andvari -Chang   is witty and daring, but loyal to his family and the entire kingdom to the very bone. His valiant heart nourishes his ambitions, his emotions spill out in sincere laugh and smiles, he is open-minded and empathetic, and is always ready to stand up for those in need.   Andvari   is not that fond of the formal style of the court and sometimes gets scolded for his careless behavior, but he sticks to the rigorous etiquette when the situation makes it necessary. At any other time he can be found in the training hall, tinkering in his little private workshop ( in the attic ) or walking in the town to see what’s new. His curious nature is reinforced by his ingenious mind. He’s more into improvisation than cramming and his good memory often aids him, even though his father never stops insisting on his son’s diligence as he wants to cultivate reasonable prudence in his son. Both his mother and father never ceased to educe his responsibility. Ever since   Andvari   was a little boy, they encouraged his personal autonomy.   Andvari   is not a spoiled royal, he knows how to work with his hands and he proves to be very hard-working when he is passionate about something. He isn't arrogant and dislikes nobles that display this trait.

His father taught him martial arts as well as sword play and he loves sparring with him and his mother. He seems to have a good sense of humor, but doesn’t always choose the right timing for his jokes. He loves good food. His favorite foods are fresh waffles served with fresh fruit, sandwiches and roasted sweet potato. One time he tried to sneak some wine into his chamber during the ball and was forced to balance on a wooden pillar for few hours by his father. He loves when his mother sings and when his father tells him interesting stories. He dreams of visiting his father’s homeland in China. Thank you!Long ago in Ancient China, the famed archer   Houyi   was out on a hunt when he came across a beautiful woman singing in the forest named;   Chang'e . The two fell in love at first sight. On their wedding day,   Houyi   presented his new bride with a jade pendant, a symbol of their never ending love.They lived quite peacefully together until one day there appeared ten suns in the skies. The unbearable heat scorched the lands and made it impossible to live and harvest.   Houyi   decided that enough was enough and shot down nine of the ten suns in the skies much to the praise and admiration of the people. He was rewarded for his act with the Elixir of Immortality, which he was to share with his wife so that they may one day ascend to the heavens to live out their immortal lives. However, his apprentice,   Feng Meng   , jealous of his master, tried to steal the Elixir for himself which   Houyi   was away. Chang'e, not wishing for the vial to fall into his evil hands, drank the entire elixir. However, her good deed caused her pendant to break in half as she floated past the Heavens, landing upon the moon, leaving her still mortal husband behind.

Heartbroken and distraught,   Chang'e   cried endlessly, her tears filling the night skies with star dust. Jade Rabbit, another inhabitant of the moon, captured the star dust and made a magical potion which ignited the moon and filled it with light, making the city of Lunaria in the process where he and   Chang'e   lived in peace, awaiting the day that she would be reunited with her beloved.Thousands of years later,   Chang'e   brought a mortal girl Fei Fei and her step brother, Chin, to Lunaria, knowing that the girl had 'the gift', meaning the other piece of her broken pendant. It was the final key to   Jade Rabit ’s potion to bring   Houyi   back. After quite the struggle and time crunch, the pendant was found and   Houyi   did indeed return...but only for a moment, disappearing and leaving   Chang'e   feeling alone once again.The goddess retreated into her chamber of sorrow until   Fei Fei   attempted to save her, only to be trapped in sorrow her over the loss of her mother.   Chang'e , not wishing the same fate as she to fall upon the young girl, brought Fei Fei back into the light and reminded her that she was not alone, to which Fei Fei reminded her of the same. Chang'e   wasn't alone. She had all of Lunaria who loved and respected her. For once in her life,   Chang'e   felt contentment in her heart, knowing that while her heart still yearned for   Houyi , it was time to try and move on.Now she continues to live upon the moon and watches over her kingdom as well as checking in on earth every now and again.

Cyrus knows knows his place. He has a calm and collected aura, even in the face of danger on the battlefield or facing scrutiny from the other officials. But he is kind and caring and has proven himself to be one of the most generous Duke's the kingdom has ever seen. A flaw of his is when backed into a corner, whether in combat or socially, he tends to have a temper and can be quite threatening at times.

They fought, soon realizing, that they were equals in their abilities.Causing many troubles and headaches in Cloud Recesses due to his rebellious nature,   Wei Ying   was often punished for his misbehaviors and   LLan Zhanan   was usually tasked with keeping an eye on him and over time, the two formed an odd friendship of sorts and even unlocked some mysterious of the past together.However, their peaceful days were soon put to rest as the   Wen Clan  began to seek out an amulet with incredible power. They rampaged through villages and murdered entire clans in search of it, including   Wei Ying   and   Lan Zhan  ’s homes, leaving only a few survivors. After the tyrannous   Wen Chao   captured   Wei Ying, he threw the young cultivator into the dreaded Burial Mounds to be left for dead while the   Wen Clan   quickly tightened their fist around the cultivation world, crowning themselves as ruler of them all.For three months,   Lan Zhan   searched tirelessly for   Wei Ying   until one day, he reappeared. As all the clans gathered to scorn him,   Wei Ying   simply laughed and mocked them atop Nightless City’s palace roof. He told them “You said you admired me once . Why did I never see you ? But when I’m at a disadvantage , you suddenly jump to help them yell and shout ? How cheap your admiration was !" To which the clans revolted and began their attack.With the sound of his flute, he raised the dead from the ground, wishing only to defend himself. However a mysterious second flute could be heard faintly over the crowd, this new music beginning to force the dead to kill instead of defend.
